About me
Who am I?
My name is Emma. I am 15. I am part Ukrainian, part Russian, raised in Maine and Tennessee. Here are some of my favorite things:
planting flowers in the garden, peonies and lilacs are my favorite, painting portraits with oils and writing, My favorite book is Les Miserables and favorite actress - Meryl Streep, because she puts great emphases on staying true to herself. I also sing and dance.
Why do I want to act?
Because of my art-centred background, I’ve always viewed acting as an art form. The idea that you are given a character to mold and bring to life is endlessly exiting to me.The most fascinating thing to me about acting is the impact it has on the audience. The reason it’s the first thing I think of - is because I’ve experienced it firsthand.
When i was 7, I watched a Ukrainian movie in particular that left an overpowering and intense impression on me. I genuinely cried, laughed, and even cried from laughing while watching it. I was so shocked by the wide range of emotions I was able to feel in a relatively short amount of time, monologues were well written and the visuals were striking, but more then anything I was so touched by the acting. It was so natural, it didn’t feel forced. You naturally went on an emotional journey with the character, in unexpected plot twists and breakups - you not only grieved for them, you grieved with them.
Of course, movies and shows don’t always have to be heart wrenching, as sometimes at the end of a long day, you just want to watch something more lighthearted. My point is that whether the topic of discussion is heavy or not, whether it’s a thrilling horror movie, or an entertaining comedy movie, it leaves an impression on you. You learn through the comfort that cinematography brings. You learn and live emotions you might have never known before. Your soul grows and heals. And that’s my mission - to help people grow as a human and heal their soul.
I got the wonderful honor of working with a director on a voice over role that I had recently. Letting their vision guide me, and their ideas flow through me as I brought the character to life. It was an electrifying experience.
There are so many stories to be told, so many characters to be brought to life, and so many experiences to be shared. My dream is to hopefully assist in that through acting.
